RedrocQuote KitYour settings

Put the quote form on your website

About five minutes. You paste one line of code into the page where you want the form, usually your Catering page. You only ever do this once: prices you change later show up on their own.

Your settings now have one more section than the video shows. Service charge and tax is optional: it adds a service charge and your estimated sales tax to every quote. Higher rates for certain days, like Saturdays or the holidays, are under Calendar. Leave them empty and your prices work as they are.

Before you start

  1. In your settings, open Your website and code and type your website address, like yourbusiness.com.
  2. Press Publish. The form does not show anywhere until you have published once.
  3. Press Copy the code. It is one line that starts with <script.

Squarespace

  1. Open the page you want the form on and press Edit.
  2. Click where the form should go, press the + to add a block, and choose Code.
  3. In the code block, make sure the type is set to HTML. Paste your line.
  4. Press Save, then Exit, and look at the live page.

Watch for: if the block is set to "JavaScript" or "Plain Text", Squarespace shows the code as text instead of running it. Set it to HTML. Squarespace also only runs code like this on its Core plan and above (older plan names: Business and Commerce). On the Basic or Personal plan, the form will not appear.

Wix

  1. In the Wix editor, open the page you want the form on.
  2. Press Add Elements (the + on the left), then Embed Code, then Embed HTML.
  3. Drag the box where you want the form and make it the full width of the page.
  4. Press Enter Code, choose Code, paste your line and press Update.
  5. Drag the bottom of the box down until it is about 1,900 pixels tall on desktop. Wix does not grow the box to fit, so a short box cuts the form off. Check the mobile view too and make it taller there.
  6. Publish your site and open the live page. The first time, the form says "Unlicensed quote form". That is expected: see the next step.
  7. Open your settings, go to Your website and code. Under "We saw your form try to load here" there is a Wix address. Press Allow. Refresh your live page and the form appears.

Why the extra step: Wix runs pasted code inside a box that lives on a Wix address rather than yours, so the kit has to be told that box is you. Only a Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, Showit or WordPress address can be allowed this way. Wix needs a Premium plan to embed code at all.

WordPress

  1. Open the page in the WordPress editor.
  2. Press the + to add a block and choose Custom HTML.
  3. Paste your line into the block, then press Update (or Publish).

Watch for: do this while signed in as an Administrator. WordPress removes code like this when someone with a lower role saves the page, and some security plugins remove it too. If the form vanishes after someone else edits the page, paste the line in again as an Administrator. On WordPress.com (the hosted version), code needs the Business plan or higher.

Showit

  1. Open the page in Showit and choose where the form should go.
  2. From the element tools, add an Embed Code element and drag it into place.
  3. In the panel on the right, paste your line into the Custom Code box. Not the iFrame URL box.
  4. Make the box tall enough for the form, about 1,900 pixels on desktop, and check the mobile view too.
  5. Publish, then check the live site.

Watch for: Showit's own preview does not always run code like this. Judge it on the live site, not the preview.

Shopify

  1. Go to Online Store, then Themes, then Customize.
  2. At the top, switch to the page template your Catering page uses.
  3. Press Add section and choose Custom Liquid.
  4. Paste your line into the Custom Liquid box and press Save.

Watch for: do not paste it into the normal page editor (Online Store, then Pages). Shopify removes code from there. It has to be the Custom Liquid section in the theme editor.

Any other website

If your site lets you add HTML to a page, paste the line where the form should appear. If someone else manages your site, send them the line and ask them to put it on your Catering page. It is safe to share: it only works on your website.

To put the form in a specific spot while the line sits somewhere else on the page, add <div data-quote-kit></div> where the form should appear.
